Lower Township is the largest area in Cape May County with approximately 28,000 year round residents. This area includes the Villas, North Cape May, Fishing Creek, Townbank, Cape May Beach, Cold Spring, Bayside Village, Erma, Tranquility Park and Diamond Beach. Lower Township is just North of Cape May city and is the home of the Cape May Lewes Ferry and The Cape May Lighthouse which is actually in Lower Township by the Cape May State Park and Higbees Beach.
Bird lovers from all over are drawn to Lower Township where more than 400 species of birds can be spotted during the spring and fall migration time.
